Cocoa Daisy August reveal: Modern+Vintage

It's that time again -- Cocoa Daisy reveal!
This month's kits are super happy and bright, but there's a softer quality to them, too -- it's a fantastic blend of Modern+Vintage.

My first page, Bike Ride. All about SL's new bike last summer and her freedom -- and my angst. ;)

I used the doodled cut files from last month (they were still on my desk) and used my trusty Cocoa Daisy all-purpose hybrid ink pad to colour them black. I like the texture of the ink pad directly on cardstock.

I used the whimsical frame stamps and heat embossed in black. I cut out the patterned paper on the inside of one stamped frame, and backed it with an old book page I stamped and heat embossed with gold ZING embossing powder. The stamp is one of my very first Cocoa Daisy stamps, and still a favourite, the scattered stars stamp.

Here's a close up of that star-filled frame.

I also heat embossed a little pinking-edged circle, and set it around a metal star from My Mind's Eye, included in one of  the Cocoa Daisy add-ons this month.

My next page, Tomato Rainbow.
I used one of the exclusive Cocoa Daisy patterned papers for this page -- that white distressing on pink was perfect for these photos!

The red Thickers are in the kits this month. The RAINBOW part was pulled from my stash of past Cocoa Daisy kits --  subscribing pays off!

That cute camera die cut is in an add-on this month. The ampersand was a cut file from a previous month -- cut files are a nice perk for subscribers!

True story. Which, sadly, seems to be repeating this year.

You are so cute.
This one started with green cardstock, some gesso, and Panda Eight printables that come with your Cocoa Daisy main kit or DITL subscriptions.

Some blue watercolour.

I sort of colour-matched embellishments from the kits this month to the printable labels. How cute is that birdie??

Another true story. :)

For more inspiration, cool stuff, and generally just really nice stuff to look at,

Sunday night

This is Summer Lily... hard at work on a Sunday night, finishing up a poster project for school, almost two years ago now!

I love this little assortment of embellishments. I used many of my favourite items on this page. :)

I was stuck for the longest time on what to do with the title, and I decided to go with small white letter stickers on white. Everything else I tried was too loud and too busy for the rest of the page. This is what it needed.

After I had the main part of the page done, this margin on the right seemed TOO bare. So I grabbed my Glitz Design roller stamp and rolled on a bunch of + signs all up and down the page. And then added some gesso over top.

Another look, because I seriously love everything here.

I love the way these + signs turned out! Love the variation in how much ink was on the roller, and the rather random arrangement. I couldn't make this look good, if I tried. I just went for it, and it turned out so well. Funny how that works. #justmakeit

Bows! I'm still not sick of them! One heat embossed, and one cut+watercolour. Also, there are some heat embossed + signs on the background there, too. And heart epoxy stickers. I really went to town with the embellishing on this one. ;)
